Your domain name is the website address that people type in, and what the internet search engines like Google & Bing link to.
There are a number of options available to you:
1) You already have a domain name
We can set that up for you or take on management of it, or tell your supplier how to set it up for your new website.
2) You want a .gov.uk
Local government bodies are able to register a suitable chosen name as a .gov.uk, for example www.stonesgreen-pc.gov.uk. There are a number of hoops to jump through but we can assist and advise with this. We don't think this is essential for smaller councils as it does add to expense and bureaucracy.
3) You want a .org.uk
We can buy and set this up for you, for example www.stonesgreen-pc.org.uk This is at a very modest annual cost.
4) You don't want a separate domain
We can set you up with a subdomain on our system. eg stonesgreen.parish-council.uk and this is included in the hosting fee, after a small one-off set up fee.
